Are you buying a property in Spain?

This is more popular now than ever before and even more profitable as the prices continually increase. As an independent adviser we recommend you to always use a registered Estate Agent in the area and not one of the many that still work out of the "boot of their car".

Should you find property that is sold privately, which you wish to buy, do not say no. Go to one of the many service companies such as CostaMedConsulting or a lawyer who works with these matters on a daily basis. Spain has a good system but can appear difficult, and even more difficult if you do not speak the language!

Do not forget that to the price you have been quoted you need to add different expenses. For example VAT or transfer tax, depending on whether the property is new or resale. Find out what the different amounts are so that you know the total cost of your purchase.
